All colors of this gemstone are said to improve blood pressure; carnelian has the highest qualities in its orange-red form with a slight brown effect.

The gemstone is often found in cavities in mountain ranges or river deposits.
Meaning:
The stone was used in ancient times to unlock its natural resources. Hildegard von Bingen wrote about its properties: It is one of the most important gemstones. The scholar was one of the most significant healers of the Middle Ages and attributed to carnelian that it influences the areas of: high blood pressure, headaches, coughs, bleeding, and colds.
