1. The security of user data comes first
Modern Natura AG respects the privacy of all users of the website and online shop (hereinafter referred to as “the customer” or “customers”). This privacy policy forms the basis for the processing of personal data and explains what types of user data Modern Natura AG collects from customers, how Modern Natura AG uses this data, and what rights customers have. Modern Natura AG complies with applicable data protection laws and processes personal data only for the purposes for which it was provided. This privacy policy is updated, supplemented, or amended from time to time. Each time you access or visit the website, the current version available at that time applies. If there are any contradictions between this privacy policy and other applicable contractual or business terms and conditions of Modern Natura AG, the provisions of this privacy policy shall prevail.
2. Type and purpose of the data collected
The term “personal data” within the meaning of this privacy policy includes information that can be used to personally identify customers. Processing of personal data means any handling of personal data, such as collecting, using, storing, disclosing, transmitting, or deleting data. On the one hand, Modern Natura AG collects personal data automatically when the customer interacts with the website or uses the online shop. On the other hand, personal data is collected automatically or manually when a customer provides it (for example, by contacting us or creating a user profile/customer account).
2.1 Data that is collected automatically
When you visit the Modern Natura AG website, statistical visitor data is automatically collected about which parts of the website offering are visited by the customer. Each time a webpage is accessed, the web server automatically stores a so-called server log file, which may include, for example, the name of the requested file, the customer’s IP address, the date and time of access, the browser used, the operating system, the amount of data transferred, and the requesting provider (access data), and documents the access. In this context, it may be necessary for so-called cookies (see section 4) to be used. This access data is evaluated exclusively to ensure smooth operation of the site and to improve our offering.
2.2 Data when interacting, for contract processing, contacting us, and opening a customer account
Modern Natura AG does not automatically collect customers’ personal data such as name, address, telephone number, or email address. However, personal data is collected when a customer voluntarily provides it as part of an order or when contacting Modern Natura AG (for example via contact form or email). Mandatory fields are marked as such because, in these cases, Modern Natura AG needs the data to process the contract or handle the enquiry, and without it the order or enquiry cannot be submitted. Which data is collected can be seen from the respective input forms.
When the contact form is submitted, Modern Natura AG stores, in addition to the information entered (name, email address, subject, message and, if desired, an order number), the IP address, browser identifier, the language of the enquiry, and the time of consent to this privacy policy. This technical information is used solely to fend off automated mass submissions and to provide proof of consent; it is not used for advertising, analyses, or profiling and is not shared with third parties. The message is stored before it is forwarded to the responsible department within the company so that no customer enquiry is lost due to a technical issue. After processing is completed, contact enquiries are automatically and completely deleted after a period defined in the shop. To protect against misuse, Modern Natura AG deliberately does not use a third-party provider – no data is transmitted to external providers when using the form.
If a customer decides to open a customer account, Modern Natura AG uses the personal data for the purpose of creating the customer account. The mandatory information requested during registration must be provided in full; otherwise Modern Natura AG may reject the registration. Modern Natura AG uses the collected personal data only for the purpose of using the online shop or the respective offer or service for which the customer registered. In addition, Modern Natura AG may use the customer’s email address to inform them about important changes, for example to the scope of the offer, or about technically necessary changes.
After the contract has been fully processed or after the customer account has been deleted, the customer’s data will be restricted for further processing and deleted after the expiry of tax and commercial retention periods, unless the customer has expressly consented to further use of the data or Modern Natura AG reserves the right to use the data beyond this as permitted by law. The customer account can be deleted at any time, either by sending a message to the contact details provided below (see section 9) or via a function provided in the customer account.
3. Legal basis for collecting and processing personal data
The legal basis for collecting and processing the customer’s personal data depends on the specific purpose of the data processing. In particular, the following may apply:
- safeguarding the legitimate interests of Modern Natura AG, provided that the customer’s interests or fundamental rights or freedoms are not unduly impaired;
- entering into or performing a contract; or
- the customer’s consent at the time the personal data is collected. The customer may withdraw their consent at any time. To do so, the customer can send a corresponding message to the contact details described below. The lawfulness of the data processing already carried out remains unaffected by the withdrawal.
4. Use of cookies and use of data
To continuously improve the website for customers, Modern Natura AG may use cookies. Cookies are small software information files that are stored on the customer’s device by web browsers (for example Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge or Mozilla Firefox) to make using the website easier (for example language selection, shopping cart). Some of the cookies used by Modern Natura AG are deleted after the end of the browser session, i.e. after closing the web browser (so-called session cookies). 4.1 Use of data
The anonymised data recorded via cookies when accessing the Modern Natura AG website may be used for web analytics, to optimise the website, and to measure performance. Modern Natura AG may use third-party providers for this, some of which have their own privacy policies over which Modern Natura AG has no influence. “Sign in with Google” (Google Single Sign-On)
On our website, you have the option to register for a customer account or log in to an existing account using the “Sign in with Google” service (Google Single Sign-On). For users in the European Economic Area and Switzerland, the provider of this service is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (“Google”).
1. How it works and data transmitted. If you decide to sign in with your Google account, you will first be redirected to a Google page. There you can log in with your Google user credentials. This links your Google profile to our shop. Through this link, we automatically receive the following information from Google:
- First and last name
- Email address
- Profile picture, if applicable (if publicly stored with Google)
- a unique authentication ID
We use this data exclusively to set up your customer account with us, identify you, and complete the sign-in process. We do not receive your Google password at any time.
2. Legal basis. Use of this service is voluntary. If you choose this sign-in method, the legal basis for processing the data is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR or Art. 31(1)(a) revFADP) as well as the initiation or performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR or Art. 31(2)(a) revFADP), as the data is required to provide the customer account and process orders.
3. Data transfer to the USA. We would like to point out that when using Google services, data may also be transferred to Google’s parent company, Google LLC, in the USA. Google is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (as well as the Swiss-US Data Privacy Framework), ensuring an adequate level of data protection.

Google Analytics
The provider is Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. Google analyses the use of the website to compile reports on website activity and to provide Modern Natura AG with other services related to website and internet usage. The IP address transmitted by the customer’s web browser as part of Google Analytics is not merged with other Google data. The information generated by cookies about the use of the website is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. Google Ads and Google Conversion Tracking
The provider is Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. As part of Google Ads, Modern Natura AG uses so-called conversion tracking. When the customer clicks on an ad placed by Google, a cookie is set for conversion tracking. These cookies expire after 30 days at the latest and are not used to identify the customer. If the customer visits the Modern Natura AG website and the cookie has not yet expired, Google and Modern Natura AG can recognise that the customer clicked on the ad and was redirected to this page. Modern Natura AG learns from Google the total number of users who clicked on the ad and were redirected to a webpage tagged with a conversion tracking tag. Google Maps
The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Modern Natura AG uses Google Maps to visually display geographical information. When using Google Maps, Google transmits and processes data about the use of the Maps functions by website visitors, which may include the IP address and location data in particular. Modern Natura AG has no influence on this data processing. To disable Google Maps and thus prevent data transmission to Google, the customer must disable the JavaScript function in the web browser. Microsoft Clarity
This website uses Microsoft Clarity for testing purposes, a web developer tool from Microsoft. Clarity allows us to make our site more appealing and easier for our customers to use. It helps with error analysis and can help us continuously improve the usability of the site. All collected data is anonymised and cannot be attributed to any person. No names or addresses are stored. The data is not shared or sold. It is used exclusively by the online shop developers to improve the website.
Embedded YouTube videos
The provider is YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA. We embed YouTube videos on some of our webpages. When you visit a page with the YouTube plugin, a connection to YouTube servers is established. YouTube is informed which pages you visit. If you are logged into your YouTube account, YouTube can associate your browsing behaviour with you personally. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account beforehand. When a YouTube video is started, the provider uses cookies that collect information about user behaviour. The legal basis for embedding YouTube and the associated data transfer to Google is your consent. Accessing YouTube automatically triggers a connection to Google. If you have disabled the storage of cookies for Google’s advertising programme, you should not expect such cookies when watching YouTube videos either. However, YouTube also stores non-personal usage information in other cookies. If you want to prevent this, you must block the storage of cookies in your browser.
4.3 Social media content
Modern Natura AG may use social media plugins from social networks on the website, such as Facebook, Instagram, or X. When the customer accesses a webpage that contains such a plugin, the web browser establishes a direct connection to the servers of the respective social network. The content of the plugin is transmitted directly from the respective provider to the web browser and integrated into the page. By integrating the plugins, the providers receive the information that the customer’s web browser has accessed the relevant Modern Natura AG webpage, even if the customer does not have a profile with the respective social network or is not currently logged in. This information (including the IP address) is transmitted directly from the customer’s web browser to a server of the respective provider (possibly in the USA) and stored there. If the customer is logged into one of the services, the social network providers can directly associate the visit to the Modern Natura AG website with the profile on the respective social network. If the customer interacts with the plugins, for example by clicking the “Like” or “Share” button, the corresponding information is also transmitted directly to a server of the providers and stored there. The information is also published on the social network and shown to the customer’s contacts there.

If the customer does not want any of these plugins to load, it is recommended to log out of the respective social network. In addition, various web browsers can be configured or supplemented with extensions so that social media plugins are not loaded.
5. Newsletter
If the customer would like to receive a newsletter offered by Modern Natura AG, Modern Natura AG requires the customer’s email address and other information that allows verification that the customer is the owner of the specified email address and agrees to receive the newsletter (so-called double opt-in procedure). If the customer would like to sign up for a newsletter as a registered customer, they can give their consent at the time of registration or later via the sign-up function in the customer account.
With the newsletter, the customer regularly receives recommendations and offers that may be of interest to them. For this purpose, Modern Natura AG collects and processes personal data relating to the customer’s usage behaviour on the Modern Natura AG website, orders placed with Modern Natura AG, and how the customer uses the newsletter (for example whether the newsletter is opened or which links are clicked). Modern Natura AG may analyse this data for statistical purposes in order to better tailor the content of the newsletters to customers’ interests.
The processing of the personal data entered in the newsletter sign-up form is based on the customer’s consent, which the customer can withdraw at any time with effect for the future. Withdrawal is done either via the “Unsubscribe” link in the newsletter, via written notice to the address listed below, or by unsubscribing in the customer account. Modern Natura AG uses the collected personal data to create the content and send the newsletters. It is not shared with third parties for their own advertising purposes. Modern Natura AG stores the personal data provided by the customer for the purpose of receiving the newsletter until the customer unsubscribes from the newsletter.
6. Disclosure of your data
Modern Natura AG will not disclose customers’ personal data to third parties. Exceptions apply if the customer has consented to the disclosure of data to companies not affiliated with Modern Natura AG, or if Modern Natura AG is legally, administratively, or judicially obliged to do so. This also applies if service providers are engaged that support Modern Natura AG in data processing, website administration, or otherwise, as well as in providing the products and services requested by the customer (for example parcel delivery or newsletter mailing service providers). These third parties are obliged to comply with the same level of security and data protection as Modern Natura AG.

Modern Natura AG works with service providers and internet providers that take appropriate technical and organisational security measures to protect customers’ personal data. However, Modern Natura AG cannot guarantee the security of the data transmitted by the customer. Any data transmission is therefore at the customer’s own risk.
8. Your rights to information and withdrawal
Of course, every customer is free to inform Modern Natura AG at any time – for example in an email – that their personal data should no longer be used for contact purposes in the future. Participation in special services on the website, such as the newsletter, can also be withdrawn at any time.
